Alex has been working for the American Cancer Society in the Income Development Department for over a year. Prior to that, he served 6 months on the Board of Advisors and on the Income Development sub-committee. He has been fundraising as a volunteer or a staff partner for roughly 6 years, and has raised over $300,000 for various organizations. Alex has attended many national and state-wide summits and conferences regarding youth and fundraising.
Fundraising 101 will show fundraising in a historical context, exposing fundraising myths and showcasing the recipe for a successful fund-raiser. We will also discuss fund-raising from the donor perspective, discovering why people donate to one particular cause over another.
