Strong Bones Plus

RSVP offers a great opportunity for volunteers who want to retain their flexibility and bone health.

You can make a difference for your health and for others through Strong Bones Plus, a community health promotion program for those at risk or suffering with osteoporosis.

The program consists of gentle strengthening exercises and information about ways to promote healthy bones. Classes are located throughout the capital region. Strong Bones Plus is offered in conjunction with Sunnyview Hospital and Rehabilitation Center.

Seniors can serve as RSVP Volunteer Leaders and assist with guiding fellow classmates in weekly exercises. Classes usually meet once or twice a week for 1 to 1.5 hours. RSVP Volunteers receive training at regular workshops. Exercises are regularly reviewed and updated by health professionals. Volunteers attend workshops on health, nutrition, latest therapies, exercises, home safety against falls, and much more.
