Man reading to child in school

In response to “America Reads”, a national project designed to encourage improved reading skills, the RSVP Reading Program provides literacy services in elementary schools to children ages 5-8.

Volunteers read books to a child in a classroom setting 1 hour per week from October through May. Activities also include arts and crafts and/or a worksheet project that will enhance and stretch the learning curve of the curriculum - based book.

Volunteers receive trainings and are recognized for their service contribution at the end of the school year.
