About the School

Since 1970, the School of Business at the University at Albany has provided high quality academic programs. We are recognized as one of the best business schools in the Northeast. The school consists of five academic departments: accounting and law, finance, information technology and management, marketing, and management.  We are committed to delivering premier business education in a research university environment.

The secret to our success is multi-faceted. Our faculty members conduct leading-edge scholarly research and are also outstanding teachers. In addition, we have high quality students who rise to the challenge of our rigorous curriculum, modern classroom facilities and computer labs that foster an interactive and "high tech" learning environment, and applied experiences consisting of internships, on-site field projects with local and regional companies, and in-class projects/case studies that address the most topical business themes.

Thus, our students graduate with a clear understanding of theory and practice, enabling them to make a seamless transition from an academic environment to the business world. This also explains our outstanding placement record with leading companies, such as Accenture, Ernst and Young, Goldman Sachs, KPMG, JP Morgan Chase, The Blackstone Group, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte and Touche, Deloitte Consulting, Credit Suisse First Boston, Deutsche Bank, Deloitte Consulting, IBM, UBS, Empower, Merrill Lynch, Microsoft, and the May Company.
