Career Services

We run with the Big Dogs. Like all premier business schools, The University at Albany School of Business operates its own Career Services Office, complementing the work of the University-wide Career Development Center.

Our graduates get a terrific return on their educational investment. They are offered positions at small and medium-sized firms, as well as Fortune 500 companies such as Deloitte, Ernst and Young, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Bear Stearns, Deutsche Bank, JP MorganChase, IBM and Accenture. Undergrad starting salaries range form the mid-30's to the 50's, depending on concentration and geographic location. MBAs receive offers in the $70,000 range. MS Accounting students typically start higher.

Placement of our graduates is a high priority at the University at Albany School of Business. We offer training in the practical aspects of career development, including state-of-the-art job search techniques.

It's tough to get a job without experience. Internships, Externships, Mentoring and Field Projects bolster student résumés, confidence and marketability.

Packaging is just as essential. We critique résumés and cover letters, and offer mock interviews and ongoing programming in networking, dining and dress etiquette.

Locating jobs is facilitated by our Job Board, alumni and faculty. Professors bring their vast network to students, by inviting recruiters to the School. Alumni and other business contacts help students start their careers. These efforts are an integral part of the solid foundation provided by the School of Business Career Services Office. Students get the careers they want and deserve because our program works.

"I'd advise students to work very hard and do their outreach -- start making connections through faculty and alumni. That's how you get your best job."

Kimberly Welsh '88, Managing Director, UBS
