The Centers for Disease Control strongly recommends that you should AVOID ALL TRAVEL TO MAINLAND CHINA, HONG KONG, SINGAPORE, AND HANOI (VIETNAM) BECAUSE OF THE DANGERS RELATED TO THE SPREAD OF SEVERE ACUTE RESPIRATORY SYNDROME (SARS).
If you absolutely must travel to China, Hong Kong, Singapore or Viet Nam during the next few weeks, the CDC indicates that you will be issued a "Travel Alert" card when you return with information about your susceptibility to SARS.
Any University at Albany student, faculty or staff who travel to these affected areas must contact the University Health Center upon return to University at Albany campus. A health care professional from the University Health Center will speak with you over the phone regarding the general state of your health and will make appropriate recommendations. This cautionary measure is for your protection as well as for the protection of our entire campus community. The Health Center can be reached at 442-5454.
If you have further questions about SARS, see the Centers for Disease Control website at www.CDC.gov, or call the University Health Center.
