Ticket Information Announced for Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor’s Visit
Sonia Sotomayor, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, will speak at UAlbany on April 4.

ALBANY, N.Y. (March 10, 2017) – Organizers of the University at Albany Speaker Series are officially launching online ticket registration for U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s public talk on campus next month.
The talk is scheduled for Tuesday, April 4 at 6:30 p.m. in SEFCU Arena. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
Registration for the event, which is free and open to current UAlbany students, faculty/staff, alumni, and the general public, will be available in the following order:
- UAlbany students – Friday, March 10
- UAlbany faculty/staff – Monday, March 13
- UAlbany alumni/general public – Friday, March 17
Those interested in attending must visit albany.edu/eventtickets to register. Due to anticipated demand, only one ticket will be available per registrant. Tickets are required for admittance and seating is first come, first served.
Courtesy of the UAlbany Student Association, copies of the Justice’s memoir, “My Beloved World,” will be handed out to undergraduate students upon entry while supplies last. Students must present their UAlbany ID to receive the book.
University at Albany Speaker Series:
In 2008, UAlbany’s Student Association conceived and organized the “World Within Reach Speaker Series” to being world leaders and thinkers to campus.
The series has featured nationally-recognized icons including President Bill Clinton (Spring 2011), Earvin 'Magic' Johnson (2011), Bill Nye (Spring 2015) and most recently “Humans of New York” creator Brandon Stanton (Fall 2016).
Now simply known as the “University at Albany Speaker Series,” the program is sponsored by representatives from the Student Association, Division of Student Affairs, University Auxiliary Services, the Alumni Association, the New York State Writers Institute, and the Office of University Events.
