Six executives from Deloitte & Touche LLP, one of the nation's leading
professional services firms, will toast their college alma mater and
its current president on Thursday, April 5, in a 6:30 p.m. reception
at the Stamford Marriott.
Robert Hansen '77, principal in the Stamford offices of Deloitte &
Touche's Enterprise Risk Services (ERS) practice, heads the prestigious
group of alumni that will celebrate the University at Albany and welcome
President Karen R. Hitchcock. They will also receive thanks from Hitchcock
for their recent generous gift to the University's School of Business.
"It is important for us be able to support and give back to the college
that provided the foundation for our careers," said Hansen. "It is not
only this sense of responsibility, but also it is a way of acknowledging
the important role that the University at Albany fulfills today in providing
our firm, and the business community at-large, with highly qualified
and motivated employees."
The Stamford event, which includes 50 graduates and their spouses from
the Southern Fairfield County region, is part of a nationwide tour by
President Hitchcock to areas of the country where a number of UAlbany
graduates reside.
Along with Hansen, UAlbany alumni and Deloitte & Touche partners Robert
Diskin '76, James Ferrara '85, Robert Smolens '80, Robert Uhl '87, and
George Warnock '79 are scheduled to attend and help President Hitchcock
announce the firm's gift to the business school.
Deloitte & Touche provides assurance and advisory, tax, and management
consulting services through nearly 30,000 people in more than 100 U.S.
cities.
