What: Buses carrying UAlbany students and alumni will head to Columbus, Ohio to root for the Great Danes men's basketball team in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against the Virginia Cavaliers
Who: The University at Albany students and alumni
Where:
- Alumni will depart from the Alumni House driveway, located on UAlbany's uptown campus at 1400 Washington Ave., Albany, N.Y.
- Students will depart from the Science Library bus stop, located on UAlbany's uptown campus at 1400 Washington Ave., Albany, N.Y.
When: Today, March 15, 2007, 11 p.m.
Background: UAlbany will face No. 4 seeded Virginia in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at 12:15 p.m. Friday in Columbus, Ohio. The Great Danes, who are seeded No. 13 in the South Region, reached the NCAAs for the first time last season.
This season, the Great Danes (20-9, 13-3) tied the program's record for conference wins and won its second consecutive America East Championship after defeating rival Vermont Catamounts 60-59.
