Background: UAlbany is facing No. 4 seeded Virginia in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at 12:15 p.m. today in Columbus, Ohio. The Great Danes, who are seeded No. 13 in the South Region, reached the NCAAs for the first time last season.
This season, the Great Danes (20-9, 13-3) tied the program's record for conference wins and won its second consecutive America East Championship after defeating rival Vermont Catamounts 60-59.
