University at Albany Community Congratulates the New York Giants, 2008 Super Bowl Champions
ALBANY, N.Y. (February 5, 2008) -- The University at Albany community congratulates the N.Y. Giants on their monumental victory in Super Bowl XLII, arguably the greatest upset in Super Bowl history.
As the summer home of the Giants since 1996, UAlbany will once again welcome the world champions for training camp in 2008. Fans from throughout the U.S. attend the camp each summer, and with the Super Bowl victory attendance this year could grow by as much as 20,000.
In 2007, the University dedicated its football practice field in honor of Wellington T. Mara and Preston Robert Tisch, the late co-owners of the New York Giants who were instrumental in making UAlbany the home of the team's summer training camp.
