Celebrating the 50<SUP>th</SUP> Anniversary of the National Science Foundation

The National Science Foundation (NSF) is commemorating its 50th Anniversary through a series of events in a year-long celebration. The University at Albany is proud to be the first academic institution in New York State to host one of these celebratory events.

Since its inception in 1950, the National Science Foundation has served the nation by investing in research and education in all aspects of science, mathematics, and engineering. Over the years, NSF's investments in research and education have helped the nation achieve an unmatched competence in scientific and technical fields. This competence has taken on increased importance as we enter the new millennium and embrace the information age.

On Monday, April 17th, there will be a series of events on the Albany campus featuring NSF and Dr. Rita Colwell, Director of the National Science Foundation. Below is a schedule for the day's activities.

Event Schedule:
Noon Luncheon — Assembly Hall
2 – 3 p.m. Convocation — Campus Center Ballroom
Public Event — all welcome to attend
3:30 – 4:30 p.m. Tour of CESTM
5 – 6 p.m. Reception — Barnes & Noble Reading Room
6 p.m. Dinner — Library Atrium
