Educational Policy and Leadership Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration Program

Program of Study (60 credits, minimum)

This program is a supplemental degree that is only available to students pursuing the Educational Policy and Leadership PhD. The student, in consultation with the faculty advisor, develops a program of study taking into account the previous preparation, area of specialization, and objectives.

Requirements include the following:

1. Pre-core requirements (6-9 credits): Epl 600, 601, and the statistics requirement by either taking an approved quantitative research methods course (e.g. Epl 614 or see your advisor for other courses that qualify), or by passing a departmental research methods exam (in which case an additional three credits must be taken in one of the other areas).
2. 15 credits (minimum) in the chosen area of specialization (K-12, higher education, or education policy).
3. 9 credits (minimum) in support disciplines such as philosophy, economics, sociology, psychology, and political science.
4. 3 credits - Epl 780 - Applied research or policy analysis.
5. Electives: 21 credits minimum.

This program is not eligible for federal financial aid.

Students who have previously been convicted of a felony are advised that their prior criminal history may impede their ability to complete the requirements of certain academic programs and/or to meet licensure requirements for certain professions.
