Go Global!
Dream of traveling to exotic places, broadening your horizons, testing your personal mettle, studying French in Paris? UAlbanys fall Study Abroad Fair will offer information on 56 Study Abroad programs in 25 countries. Add to that the offerings by the SUNY system and this number expands to 300 programs in 50 counties. Find out all you need to know about studying abroad on Wednesday, Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the LC hallway near the office of the Dean of Undergraduate Studies.
Students can opt for semester, yearlong or summer programs theres something to fit every need and desire. Costs are comparable to spending a semester on campus, but theres the additional opportunity that students can take advantage of -- that of enriching their education, expanding their understanding of other cultures, increasing their self-awareness and building their resume.
Stephanie Coon,03, went to the University of Oxford in England to study the summer after her second year. Being submersed in another culture opened my eyes and broadened my thinking. It is an experience that I would recommend to everyone. I was able to work with one of the foremost experts in Comparative and International Education, who will also be my doctoral supervisor at Oxford this fall when I go back.
