UAlbany to Host 5th Global Game Jam, January 25-27
The University at Albany’s College of Computing and Information will host the 5th Annual Global Game Jam Jan. 25-27. The weekend event begins at 4 p.m. Jan. 25 in UAlbany’s Campus Center Room 375 and ends at 5 p.m. Jan. 27 with a presentation of the completed games. The Game Jam supports the development of video and board games.

With childhood obesity recognized as a growing national problem, a University at Albany School of Public Health study finds that a majority of food advertisements in magazines targeting parents emphasize products of poor nutritional quality that may contribute to unhealthy weight gain.

President Jones Named Co-Chair of Capital Region Economic Council
UAlbany President Dr. Robert Jones has been appointed the new Regional Council Co-chair for the Capital Region Economic Development Council. Dr. Jones will lead the regional council in collaboration with council co-chair and Albany Medical Center President James J. Barba, filling the position vacated by RPI President Shirley Jackson.
