Albany, N.Y. (October 11, 2013) – Shop24 Global LLC and University Auxiliary Services at Albany (UAS) have successfully installed the first of two Shop24 Stores on the UAlbany’s Uptown Campus.
The newly installed automated convenience store will have its Grand Opening during the University’s Homecoming Weekend, Oct. 19, 2013, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The event will feature 3 hours of free product from the store for UAlbany students, a $500 Best Buy gift card raffle, a ribbon cutting ceremony (10:30 a.m.), a DJ, and complimentary snacks and beverages.
“UAlbany is undergoing major renovations to the retail food service environment and we believe Shop24 will help provide the 24 hour retail needs students require,” said UAS Executive Director Stephen Pearse. “We are partnering with one of our existing vending providers, Next Generation Vending, for daily operations and are always open to suggestions as to what our product mix will be in the current store as well as in the next store slated for Spring 2014.”
Next Generation Vending, LLC, recently signed a non-exclusive agreement to provide fulfillment services for Shop24 installations in the northeast region, including UAlbany. “Shop24 represents the best in class in automated convenience stores,” said Next Generation Chairman and CEO David Mac Isaac. “Its state-of-the-art technology combined with Shop24’s focus on providing unparalleled support and service emulates the customer centered focus at Next Generation.”
“It is great to see how well Shop24 Stores are accepted by students on Higher Education campuses,” said Jason Santoro, vice president of sales for Shop24 Global, LLC. “These Stores will enhance the existing food service program especially during those late night cravings.”
