Chancellor Zimpher Visits Campus, Urges Area Leaders: 'Stand with SUNY!'
ALBANY, N.Y. (December 8, 2015) — State University of New York Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher visited UAlbany recently to lead a panel discussion with state legislators and area college presidents on supporting SUNY.
Speaking at the Alumni House along with President Jones and SUNY Chairman H. Carl McCall, she announced the launch of a statewide advocacy campaign, “Stand With SUNY,” which urges public support for the university system, its campuses, students, faculty, and staff.
Zimpher said that SUNY will seek to secure increased state investment and the renewal of the landmark reform legislation, NYSUNY 2020, in order to keep tuition-setting authority with the SUNY Board for the next five years.
