Alumni Association Scholarships Available for Academic Year 2016-2017 

Alumni Association scholarships are awarded to new and continuing UAlbany students. 

ALBANY, N.Y. (January 25, 2016) – The University makes a variety of scholarship opportunities available throughout the year. These grants are awarded to new and continuing UAlbany students based on academic excellence, leadership, service, talent, financial need, and any criteria required by the scholarship donor.

Currently, the Alumni Association is offering six scholarships for UAlbany students and alumni for academic year 2016-2017. These include:

Alumni Association Spirit Scholarship - $1,000

• Candidate must be a rising freshman, sophomore or junior
• Candidate must demonstrate commitment to the University at Albany community by exhibiting outstanding school spirit and pride
• Financial need will be considered

Agnes E. Futterer Memorial Fellowship - $1,000

• Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree from the University at Albany or earn one by Spring 2016
• Candidate must have been in residence at the University at Albany for a minimum of two academic years as an undergraduate by the time of graduation
• May be used for graduate study in theatre or theatre-related fields at the University at Albany or any other accredited institution or recognized theatre program

Albert N. Husted Fellowship - $1,000

• Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree from the University at Albany or earn one by Spring 2016
• Candidate must have been in residence at the University at Albany for a minimum of two academic years as an undergraduate by the time of graduation
• May be used for full-time study at the University or any other accredited university
• Priority will be given to the candidate with a demonstrated aptitude and interest in teaching

Adna W. Risley Memorial Scholarship - $750

• Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree from the University at Albany or earn one by Spring 2016
• Candidate must plan to pursue a graduate degree in history at the University at Albany
• Priority will be given to the candidate with demonstrated dedication and commitment to civic engagement

Class of 1972 Alumni Scholarship - $750

• Candidate must be a University at Albany senior planning to enter full-time graduate study at UAlbany
• Priority will be based on both merit and need

The application deadline for the above scholarships is March 4, 2016.

Bertha Brimmer Legacy Scholarship - $1,500

• Candidate must be an incoming, current legacy freshman or new legacy transfer student.
A legacy is a child or grandchild of a graduate of UAlbany.
• Financial need will be considered.

The application deadline for the Bertha Brimmer Legacy Scholarship is February 26, 2016.
