2016 President's Leadership Awards Recognize 91 Outstanding Students

ALBANY, N.Y. (April 6, 2016) -- The President's Award for Leadership ceremony was held Sunday, April 3 to recognize undergraduate and graduate students and campus organizations that have made significant contributions to the quality of life at the University at Albany.

The ceremony recognized 91 recipients in 92 categories who demonstrated a variety of accomplishments, including extraordinary leadership, service, academic achievement, and involvement in the University community. Included were awards for Diversity and Inclusion, Women's Outstanding Leadership, Veteran/Military Leadership, Community Service Leadership, and Returning Woman, which recognizes a student who serves as a positive role model for returning women students.

“This year’s honorees have taken full advantage of everything UAlbany has to offer – in and out of the classroom," said Vice President for Student Affairs Michael N. Christakis. "Their leadership and unique contributions to our community have positively impacted campus life. I am so proud of each of them."
