The Best of Fans
ALBANY, N.Y. (Aug. 1, 2016) – UAlbany Athletics has unveiled an exclusive fan club to thank Great Dane fans for their support.
Established by The University at Albany Foundation, the Great Dane Athletic Club (GDAC) will reward fans based on current level of giving, lifetime donations (dating back to 1986), and consecutive years of season ticket purchases. Benefits include priority ticket locations, parking, in-game hospitality, postseason ticket priority and various other amenities.
GDAC members will serve as the University’s primary athletics fundraising arm, providing support for athletic scholarships, along with capital improvements and operating expenses to all of UAlbany’s student-athletes, coaches and 18 Division I teams.
“This is an exciting time for UAlbany Athletics,” said UAlbany Director of Athletics Mark Benson. “It is important that our student athletes have the support and backing of a strong fan base. Their commitment to our program allows for enhanced academic support, new and improved facilities, and the hiring and retention of top coaches. The Great Dane Athletic Club will help with this mission.”
