The Next Big Step

Any student contemplating grad school should come check out the Graduate School Fair, noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Campus Center Ballroom.

ALBANY, N.Y. (Nov. 15, 2016) — Are you ready for graduate school? Or are you still thinking about what to major in?

Either way, you might pick up some useful guidance Wednesday at the Graduate School Fair, set for noon to 3 at the Campus Center Ballroom.

“It is never too early to start considering what you may want to do after you graduate,” said Kaya Phillips, the social media and communications consultant for the Office of Graduate Education. “In fact, students may be surprised to discover how many graduate programs we offer at the University of Albany.”

How many is that? More than 125 degree programs, Phillips said. And representatives from the University’s nine schools and colleges, Albany Law School and the Alumni Association will be on hand to share information on those programs.

“The goal of the Graduate School Fair is to give potential students an authentic taste of what our graduate programs are like and what they have to offer,” Phillips said. “To do that, we feel it is important that professors, administrators and graduate students are represented.

The fair has been held annually since 2006, drawing around 350 to 400 students each year. Light refreshments will be served, and those who register in advance  and attend the fair will have a chance to win an application fee waiver.
