A Big 'Thank You' for UAlbany Service
ALBANY, N.Y. (March 22, 2017) – The University honored nearly 400 employees yesterday for 25 years of service or more, with a well-attended reception in the Campus Center Ballroom.
Interim President James R. Stellar thanked the employees for their many years of dedication, wisdom and spirit.
Vice President for Finance and Administration James Van Voorst said these employees are the backbone of what makes the University work.
Richard “Doc” Sauers, the legendary former men’s basketball coach (702 career wins), who today is special assistant to the athletics department, was honored as the longest-serving employee for his 61 years of service to UAlbany.
Groups of administrators, faculty, and staff were called up for group photos for those serving 25-29 years, 30-34 years, 35-39 years, and 40 years or more. More information and more photos are available.
