MFA Thesis Exhibition
The work of spring MFA candidates: Berly Brown, Kyle M. Contestabile, Matt Crane, John Kading, Elizabeth Mathis, Theresa McTague, Samuel W. Negrich, Stephanie Palazeke and Jackie Zysk will be on display. More information is available.
These artists have just completed the Department of Art and Art History’s three-year, 60 credit-hour program of intensive training and study in fine art. At the end of their studies, MFA candidates are required to exhibit a cohesive body of their work. This work forms the core of their visual thesis. The University Art Museum provides MFA candidates with the opportunity to exhibit their work in a professional museum setting.
Finding Our Way
This photography exhibition was the result of a collaboration between the University Libraries and the Department of Art and Art History. Art 444 Advanced Photography focuses on traditional black-and-white photography, as well as digital photography. It features a single, limited edition photograph from each student’s final project. All works in the exhibition will be printed on cotton rag paper using archival pigment inks and presented on museum board to ensure their longevity and to encourage sustainable artistic practices. The idea for the exhibition originated from a conversation between art professor Danny Goodwin and Regina Conboy, head of the Interactive Media Center.
