The event will feature panel discussions and a poster session, as well as a keynote address from SUNY Chancellor Emeritus Nancy L. Zimpher will speak at 9:15 a.m. in the CC Ballroom on “Transforming the School of Education Today for Tomorrow’s Challenges: A Theory of Action.”

Two 50-minute panels, each dealing with a critical issue in teaching today, will be held in the Ballroom at 11:10 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively: “Mental Health Issues: Warning Signs and Coping Skills” and “Student Success in the University: Preparation for the Life Beyond the Academy.”

“The School of Education Day brings together scholars, educators, and leaders to learn from each other about cutting-edge issues confronting education from cradle to career,” said SOE Interim Dean Jason Lane. “This year we are excited to be tackling a number of important topics from college student success to the mental health crisis among students to data-informed strategies for improving our schools.”
