Homecoming weekend celebrates UAlbany and its network of 180,000-plus alumni

A new giving campaign, "This is Our Time," will kick off during Homecoming weekend.

ALBANY, N.Y. – (Oct. 16, 2018) – UAlbany is gearing up for another spirit-filled homecoming weekend, complete with theatre, Division I sports action, and a new giving campaign, “This Is Our Time.”

Highlights of the weekend include:

Friday, Oct. 19

  • 1 p.m. – UAlbany field hockey vs. Maine, Alumni Turf Field (located behind John Fallon Field)
  • 3 p.m. – “Godspell,” Performing Arts Center. The UAlbany Department of Music and Theatre’s musical production of Jesus Christ stage parables. Written by Stephen Schwartz, the creator of “Wicked.” Other performances will be Saturday, Oct. 20 at 2 and 7 p.m., and Sunday. Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. There will also be performances earlier in the week on Wednesday, Oct. 17 and Thursday Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. More information here.
  • 5-7 p.m. – Welcome Reception, Main Fountain. Join UAlbany alumni, families, and friends at a homecoming welcome reception and celebration of the University's $150 million comprehensive giving campaign.

Saturday, Oct. 20

  • 8:30-10:30 a.m. – Half-Century Breakfast, Campus Center West. Join classmates and alumni to celebrate the class of 1968’s milestone anniversary.
  • 10 a.m. to noon – President's Showcase, Campus Center West. Hear from President Havidán Rodríguez followed by mingling and student performances throughout the Campus Center.
  • 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. – Sorority and Fraternity Coffee Hour, Campus Center Assembly Hall (sororities) and Fireside Lounge (fraternities).
  • 1-3:30 p.m. – Great Dane Game Day, adjacent to Tom and Mary Casey Stadium. Get into school spirit before watching UAlbany take on Towson in the Homecoming football game. Enjoy a lunch buffet, live music and fun activities with other Great Danes fans. Current UAlbany students can swipe their SUNY Card for free game ticket in student section and use discount dollars, munch money or podium dollars for the buffet.
  • 3:30 p.m. – Homecoming Football Game: UAlbany vs. Towson. Wear your purple and gold and cheer on our Great Danes to a win at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium. For game tickets, contact 518-442-DANE (3263) or purchase online. Fans are encouraged to review tailgating rules.

Sunday, Oct. 21

  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Big Purple and GOLD Brunch, Albany Pump Station. Meet up with fellow young alumni from the classes of 2008-2018 for a brunch buffet.
  • 1 p.m. – UAlbany Field Hockey vs. Louisville, Alumni Turf Field (behind John Fallon Field).
