A devoted advocate for her fellow students, New York City-bred Alondra Berroa is a master’s student in Public Administration at the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy.
She completed her undergraduate degree at UAlbany in 2018 with a double major in Political Science and Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity. She participated in Rockefeller College’s Semester in Washington program, interning at the Federal Judicial Center, and did a summer study abroad program in Madrid.
Berrroa says the most meaningful activities she was involved in at the University were those where she could support and represent the student body, including her service as a resident assistant and her membership on the University Auxiliary Services Board. She was a student consultant at the Student Organization Resource Center before being elected by the student body to be their University Council Representative.
“The most important things I gained at UAlbany were the skills and techniques that I will use for the rest of my life,” Berroa said. “Whether it was academically, professionally or personally, UAlbany gave me the opportunity to excel by providing me with the right resources.”
After completing her MPA, Berroa plans to work for the federal government and is considering law school in the future.
“I am also extremely thankful to have gained a network of individuals who helped and supported me throughout my college career,” she said. “UAlbany truly gave me everything I needed to be the young professional I am today.”
