Support the Class of 2020 Through #GivingTuesdayNow

Stand with the class of 2020

A gift to the Class of 2020 supports students in need through the Student Emergency Fund.

ALBANY, N.Y. (May 5, 2020) — Earlier this year, UAlbany’s Class of 2020 voted to dedicate their class gift to the Student Emergency Fund to help their fellow students in need. Given the dire circumstances so many students are facing now, the potential impact of this gesture is even greater.

You can help.

Your gift today, supporting Giving Tuesday, will go directly to the Class Gift and support the Student Emergency Fund, which grants money and gift cards to help students facing an unexpected emergency. Giving Tuesday is a global day of unity and support, and today’s event, dubbed #GivingTuesdayNow, is an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

Members of UAlbany’s Alumni Board of Directors have collectively contributed $5,000 to kick off the initiative. And a newly-announced program from the SUNY Impact Foundation will match donations, dollar for dollar, up to $50,000.

As our graduates face uncertainty around so many special UAlbany traditions associated with senior year, you can help our students and keep the tradition of the Class Gift alive. Every gift helps provide immediate assistance to UAlbany students affected by the pandemic.

If you can make a donation, post it on social media with the hashtag #GivingTuesdayToday and tag @UAlbanyFund. And if you are unable to give during this challenging time, consider sharing a message of support for UAlbany’s Class of 2020 with the hashtag #OneUAlbany.
