A giving challenge on Monday and Tuesday can unlock a donor gift of $500,000 for student scholarships. |
ALBANY, N.Y. (Oct. 1, 2020) — More than 80 percent of UAlbany students apply for financial aid, and for more than 1,100 of them a portion of their needs are met through scholarships from The University at Albany Foundation.
You can help support those students this Monday and Tuesday, when the UAlbany Fund hosts its third annual 1844 Giving Challenge. Your gift, to the area that matters most to you, will make a difference and provide critical scholarship support to UAlbany students.
The goal is to reach 1,844 gifts in 1,844 minutes, a number chosen to commemorate the year the University was founded. If that goal is met, all gifts will be matched with a dollar-for-dollar donation to student scholarships, up to $500,000, by a donor family with close ties to the University.
Make your gift at www.albany.edu/1844challenge during the 1,844 minutes that begin Monday at 10:16 a.m. and continue through 5 p.m. Tuesday. The amount is up to you — every dollar helps keep a student on their path to becoming a UAlbany graduate.
You can meet some of the students aided by Foundation scholarships here.
