Construction
of New Administration Building Begins
Work on the new entry/admissions/administration
building is now under way in the former east visitor
parking area. The first phase of the project involves
clearing the site enclosed by the construction fence,
excavating for the foundation, and installing utilities.
It is estimated that construction of the new building
will take two and a half years. Construction vehicles
have been authorized to use the east-west access road
between State Quad and the building site. Pedestrians
and drivers are asked to use caution in this area.

exhibited by the soldiers whose experiences U.S. Army
Major and UAlbany graduate student MARK W. JOHNSON recounts
in his book That Body
of Brave Men: The U.S. Regular Infantry and the Civil
War in the West, published recently by Da Capo
