SSW Travels to Peru
(November 22, 2005)
Associate Professor Blanca
Ramos traveled
to Peru this summer to meet with faculty
and administrators at four Peruvian universities
to continue exploring collaborative research
initiatives with UAlbany's School of
Social Welfare. Ramos, along with Dean Katharine
Briar-Lawson and professors Bonnie
Carlson and Mary
McCarthy, taught a course to Peruvian
students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in
social welfare. Earlier this year, professors
Armando Meras and Nora Grados visited UAlbany's
School of Social Welfare to explore and evaluate
programs that can be adapted to the needs
of their home country. UAlbany faculty across
disciplines who are interested in exploring
potential research and information exchange
activities with Peruvian faculty are invited
to join this project.
