Campus Tradition: Fountain Day Unites UAlbany Community
April 14, 2008
Fountain Day is UAlbany's annual rite of spring and one of its most treasured traditions. An event unique to colleges and universities throughout the nation, it is a day of campus unity and school spirit. Thousands of faculty, staff and students turn out at the main campus fountain and, after a thunderous countdown, the 30-foot-high waters of the fountain are released, officially ushering in springtime at UAlbany. All-day attractions for students include games, contests and entertainment, while faculty and staff share in the festivities by serving food and refreshments.
