ALBANY,
N.Y. (November 17, 2003) -- The Colonie Jewish Community Association
has donated $20,000 to the UAlbany Center for Jewish Studies
to endow a fund that sponsors an annual education program.
The
program's educational lectures, discussions and activities,
highlighting topics about Jewish life and culture, will take
place in Colonie. The program underscores the center's goal
of promoting a deeper understanding of the social, religious
and historical dimensions of Jewish life. By including topics
such as Jewish art, music and culture, the program seeks to
attract a broad range of participants of all ages and backgrounds
from the Capital Region. The partnership provides an academic
forum for individuals who are interested in enriching their
knowledge about Jewish culture, and supporting the core mission
of the University - to educate and advance knowledge in society.
The
endowment was made at a reception in honor of the Colonie
Jewish Community Association held at UAlbany in October. For
more information on the UAlbany Center for Jewish Studies,
