ALBANY, N.Y. (October 19, 2005) -- The University at Albany will host Brian Lamb, founder, CEO, and on-air host of C-SPAN, in a one-hour program for students, faculty, staff and members of the community Monday, October 24, at 2 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center on the uptown campus, Albany. The discussion of history, the media, and democracy is being hosted by Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Susan Herbst and moderated by nationally recognized author and Lincoln Scholar, Harold Holzer.

"This is a unique opportunity to hear from and ask questions of an individual who has played an extraordinary role in bringing objective attention to our history and government," said University at Albany President and Professor of History Kermit L. Hall.

The program is free and is being presented jointly by the New York State Archives Partnership Trust and the University at Albany. For more information, please contact Susan Supple, Office of the President, University at Albany, at (518) 437-4900 or by e-mail to [email protected].
