Hugh Johnson, the region's pre-eminent economic and financial speaker, will address University at Albany business school undergraduates and graduate students as he presents "Economic and Financial Forecasts for the US Economy over the Next Five Years."

When:

Background:
Hugh Johnson is consulting investment strategist for First Albany Companies and chairman of Johnson Illington Advisors, LLC where he manages nearly $624 million of equity, fixed income, and cash investments for individual and institutional clients and serves as a consultant advising on over $900 million in institutional assets.

Among his many accomplishments, Johnson has originated indicators that define the status of Federal Reserve policy and describe and identify those sectors of the stock and bond markets that investors should focus on. He is an economic advisor to the chairman of the New York State Assembly Committee on Ways and Means and is a director of the New York State Business Development Corporation. Johnson has served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Democratic National Finance Council as well as several other state and community boards.

Nationally recognized for his economic forecasts, interest rates, and the domestic equity markets, Johnson's work appears regularly in the New York Times, USA Today, Business Week, and other leading newspapers and periodicals around the world and his comments can be heard regularly on National Public Radio.
