School of Education Accolades

The New York State Reading Association recently presented its Friend of Reading Award to researchers at UAlbany’s School of Education Child Research and Study Center.

The award recognizes those who have contributed to the improvement of literacy instruction in New York State and honors those who promote the importance of reading in the daily lives of children.

The recipients were Donna Scanlon, Department of Reading; Frank Vellutino, Department of Educational and Counseling Psychology; Lynn Gelzheiser, Department of Educational and Counseling Psychology; and Kim Anderson, Department of Reading.
