Perez Wins International Award

Research Professor Richard Perez of the Atmospheric Sciences Research Center (ASRC) has been selected by the Villum Kann Rasmussen Fonden to receive the Daylight & Building Component Award 2008.

The award recognizes construction technology and principles that lead to an increased use of daylight.

Perez, the first award winner outside of Denmark, is a consultant on energy, environment, economics and international matters. He has published more than 120 articles in the fields of solar radiation, renewable energy and day lighting.

The Villum Kann Rasmussen Fonden received its name from the Danish entrepreneur Villum Kann Rasmussen, who set up the foundation in 1971 to promote environmental study and research in Denmark and abroad.

Perez will travel to Copenhagen, Denmark, to receive the award on Friday, March 7.
