UAlbany Professor Featured in Japanese Educational Program

Akiko Hosler, assistant professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the School of Public Health, is a featured lecturer in the upcoming Japanese educational TV series, “Challenges in Globalization of Health.”  This 15-program series on international public health is produced by the Open University of Japan (OUJ), the largest distance-learning higher educational institution in the country.

The program series will air periodically from April 2008 through July 2012 on ground analog/digital and satellite broadcasting systems in Japan. Hosler also contributed four chapters for the program’s companion textbook.

Hosler, whose expertise includes diabetes, health disparities, and nutrition, has published more than 40 journal articles, government reports and book chapters in the United States and Japan.
