McCallion will present New Models for the Care of Those with Intellectual Disabilities and Dementia at 1:45 p.m. in Social Science 112 on the main campus. He will focus on new models for delivering high-quality and cost-effective services to those who have the dual disability of Down syndrome and Alzheimer's dementia.
"We all look forward to a day when there is a cure or there is a way to prevent this disease, but there are already ways for families to maintain quality of life and offer supportive care when symptoms do occur," McCallion said.
The event is free and open to the public. It is just one of a myriad of activities and events during UAlbany Day, which will showcase to the community how the University puts the world within reach. UAlbany Day activities will highlight the richness of the University's academics, student success, and campus life. The day's activities include tours, a Farmers' Market, a basketball scrimmage, a tailgate party, and the Homecoming football game against St. Francis.
