The Collins Award recognizes faculty members who, over a sustained period of time, have exhibited extraordinary devotion to the University and the people in it. In carrying out their responsibilities a number of faculty have given of themselves to a singular degree to the life of the institution. The award bears the name of Evan Revere Collins, who was president of the institution from 1949-69 and led the campuses evolution from a college to a university.
