Set in a seaside village in Italy, very similar to director Fellini's boyhood town, AMARCORD is a pictorial weaving of bits and pieces of Fellini's youth in the 1930's. Through the eyes of the impressionable young Zanin, Fellini takes a penetrating look at family life, religion, love, sex, education, and politics. AMARCORD won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film in 1974. Outstanding musical score by Nino Rota.
