He recounts his life from infancy to his death, concentrating on his 25 years of marriage. Based on the Hungarian play Birthday by Ladislaus Bus-Fekete, Heaven Can Wait was director Lubitsch's first color film. The famous "Lubitsch touch" is everywhere evident.
