Director Phil Alden Robinson co-wrote this computer hacker caper with the Oscar-nominated screenwriters of WARGAMES (1983), Walter Parkes and Lawrence Lasker. Robert Redford stars as the chief of an oddball team of technical geniuses blackmailed by U.S. government agents into stealing a top secret decoding device. Ex-CIA agent and technology expert John Stauchs participated in numerous script rewrites.

Former local WRGB anchorman and announcer, Ernie Tetrault, portrays a TV anchorman in the film. Some scenes from this Universal motion picture were shot on the NewsCenter 6 set.

Phil Alden RobinsonWriter/Director Phil Alden Robinson, director of SNEAKERS, FIELD OF DREAMS (1989), and most recently of THE SUM OF ALL FEARS (2002, starring Ben Affleck and Morgan Freeman), will present film commentary and answer questions immediately following the screening. Robinson will also hold an informal seminar on the art and craft of writing for the screen on October 3 at 4:15 p.m. in the Standish Room, New Library, on the UAlbany uptown campus.
