Taste of Cherry follows a middle-aged man as he drives around Tehran and vicinity seeking someone to bury his body after he takes his own life. In the course of his travels he meets a wonderful assortment of undertaker-candidates who engage him in conversation about the value of life. The film, by Iran's leading director, received the Palme d'Or at Cannes in 1997.
