The New York State Writers Institute and WMHT-TV are pleased to announce a new season of weekly half hour series of video portraits focusing on contemporary writers and poets. Each documentary episode features conversations and readings with our visiting writers for a condensed view of the writer and their work. Filmed material from public readings, informal seminars, and private interviews are edited to produce the "distilled essence" of the writer. Quick edits, diverse locales, and off-camera interviewing techniques combine to keep the pace fast, the ideas stimulating, and the writer in the audience's eye. The shows producers are currently developing national distribution for the program.
