Set in Taipei, Yi Yi follows the lives of the members of a middle class family as they search for love and meaning in familiar relationships, unexpected crises and everyday events. Yang Yang, an eight-year-old boy, wanders through the various incidents taking photographs, and serving as the alter-ego of the director. The film was named Best Picture last year by the National Society of Film Critics.
