SCOPE:
Augustin Daly was one of the most important figures in late nineteenth century American theatrical history. He wrote and adapted many successful plays; owned and managed theaters in New York and London; and produced plays for his own company, which included John Drew, Otis Skinner, and Ada Rehan. Joseph Daly, his brother, was a frequent collaborator and this collection contains their correspondence, newspaper clippings, and the unpublished memoirs of Augustin Daly, reproduced from the original papers in the New York Public Library.
