SCOPE:
On June 17, 1972 five men were arrested for breaking into the Democratic Party headquarters in the Watergate Hotel. Their arrest triggered the most serious political scandal in American history, resulting in President Nixon's resignation and the indictments and trials of many of his aids. This set reproduces the Watergate-related trials held in the United States District Court of the District of Colombia beginning with the trial in January, 1973 of the "plumbers" who broke into the Watergate Hotel, and including the trials of John Connally, John Ehrlichman, John Mitchell, and G. Gorden Liddy. The set also reproduces the transcripts of the White House tapes which were used in the trials.
