SCOPE:
The Treaty of Versailles, which ended World War I, required Germany and its allies to repay France and England for war damages. The Reparation Commission met several times in the 1920's to work out the details of the payments. ARRANGEMENT:
Reels 1-3: Official Documents of the Allied Powers Reparation Commission. Includes a number of reports by German government bodies and financial institutions, arranged chronologically.
Reels 4-6: Documents of the Economic Service of the Reparation Transfer Committee. Consists of documents relating to the German economy in the 1920's, including tax legislation, balance sheets of the Reichsbank, unemployment statistics, etc., arranged chronologically.
