You can help fight the Burmese government's abuse of human rights by writing about the following issues:
1.) The Nat Ei Taung Pipeline
The Burmese government is currently constructing an oil pipeline from the Martaban Gulf through Mon country and into Thailand. SLORC troops have forced thousands of Burmese citizens, disproportionately drawn from the Mon and Karen ethnic groups, to work without compensation on the construction of this pipeline.
The workers on this pipeline are compelled to leave their families and crops for weeks at a time to contribute unpaid labor to the SLORC regime, and the profits from this pipeline will not benefit the Mon and Karen people whose land it crosses, but their oppressors, the Burmese military.
