Alumni and Supporters, * Dr. Theodore H. Fossieck Scholarship * Good News? * Sad News DR. THEODORE H. FOSSIECK SCHOLARSHIP As mentioned in a recent email to all Milne Alumni... If you, as a Milne School alumnus or alumna, have a direct descendant attending or planning to attend the University at Albany as an undergraduate for the upcoming school year, please have him or her watch for and complete the application for the Dr. Theodore H. Fossieck Scholarship, which will soon be available at https://www.albany.edu/financialaid/apply_scholarship.shtml. Choose "Albany Foundation Endowed Scholarships," "Name and Description Search," and insert "Fossieck" (without the quotation marks). Be sure to read all instructions! If they have changed any of the links, I hope that it will be obvious what you must do. Please direct all questions to the Student Service Center by calling the main phone number at 518-442-3202 and asking for the Scholarship Coordinator. If the "Albany Foundation Endowed Scholarships" link is not yet active, try again in a few days. I've been told this is a "first-come, first-served" scholarship, so act quickly. GOOD NEWS? Please continue to update me with "Good News": retirements, marriages, grandchildren, reunions (major or "mini"), successes, etc. "Sad News" happens on its own; I need YOU to provide good news...or we won't have any! The Class of '61 is planning its 50th-year reunion for mid-July 2011. Classmates, I hope to see you there! SAD NEWS

He is survived by his sister, Jane PHINNEY Keith, '39, and was predeceased by his brother, Robert G. PHINNEY, '45. Catherine E. "Kay" SUSSER, mother of Arleen SUSSER Blackstone, '57, passed away on December 13, 2010. Ada M. Smith, mother of Dayle METZGER, '57, passed away on December 22, 2010. Samuel S. Soulis, father of Katherine SOULIS, '70, and Stephen SOULIS, '74, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010. Vera Propp, wife of Dr. Richard PROPP, '52, and sister-in-law of Lawrence PROPP, '49, passed away on January 6, 2011. Martin A. EDWARDS, '41, passed away on January 7, 2011. He is survived by sisters Marie EDWARDS Fox, '43, and Gloria EDWARDS Johnston, '49, and predeceased by sister Corrine EDWARDS Wiseman, '42, and brother Richard EDWARDS, '55. Dennis F. O'NEIL, '65, passed away on January 8, 2011. Among his survivors are sister Melissa O'NEIL Macri, '75, and brother Scott O'NEIL, '73. Marjorie "Marge" NORTON Stewart, '49, passed away on December 27, 2010, at Good Shepherd Hospice, Port Jefferson, NY, several days after suffering a stroke. Our condolences to her daughter, Tracie Jedlicka, and Marge's four grandchildren. Thanks to all of you for your interest in Milne Alumni activities.
